Kendisi Celal Şengör’e evrim hakkında 4 soru sormuş ve sorduğu her sorunun peşinden geçmişte kedicilerin ve diğer tarikatların Amerikalı Evangelical Hıristiyanlardan arakladığı argümanları savunmuştur. Profesör Şengör, sorulan soruların mantıksızlığını açıklamış ama kendisini evrim konusunda ikna edememiştir.
Yusuf o tartışma olduğu sıralarda Marmara Üniversitesi İlahyat Fakültesinde okuduğunu söylemişti. Bu kadar bilimden uzak bir öğrencinin şimdi ne yapıyor olduğunu araştırdım, kendisi YLYS bursuyla devlet bütçesinden tam 105.000 pound 1.097.972,51 TL ödenekle İskoçya’ya doktora yapmaya gönderilmiş. Doktora tezinin konusu ise: “Etkili Din Eğitiminde Türk Müziğine Verilen Duygusal Tepki Üzerine İnceleme” Evet bu araştırma için sizin ödediğiniz vergiden de pay ayrıldı.
Devletin YLSY ile yurt dışına gönderdiği ve benzer paralar harcanan öğrenciler geri dönüp bizim mahalledeki abi taraftarı think tanklerde siyasi çizgi belirleme, politika ve retorik üretme ve bu boş retoriğin altına sözde akademik çalışma ve meşrulaştıracak araştırmalar yaparak laik cumhuriyete zarar vermektedir.
